An Interview with Robyn Carr

Robyn Carr
I just "liked" Robyn Carr on facebook. Her site is current with a good mix of personal and professional information. She recently added a photo of some birthday flowers with a thank you comment to all of her well-wishers. Robyn also mentioned to those seeking her more historical novels a little how-to comment noting these harder to find relics have just been released as ebooks. In her "about" section I read a brief bio. and discovered the "Carr Chat," an author interview program Robyn pioneered with her local library where she is on the board of trustees. Because of her facebook page, I have more information as to why she writes like she does, and where her inspiration comes from. Many of her books are based on military families which is a direct product of her own life, she is a military wife and mother. Her photos were a nice mix of personal and professional although she could have more. She has over six thousand likes and her facebook is linked with her website and email accounts. Her facebook backdrop shows several of her book cover and is cluttered with author info.

Will Write For Asian Chicken Pasta Salad
Asian Chicken Pasta Salad
I took P.J's idea (found in Sunday's Comment section) and tweaked it a tiny bit. I recently lost 25 pounds so I try to make small adjustments to make dishes better suited towards weight loss. I subbed out regular pasta for whole grain and I used almonds rather than peanuts! This dish was full of fresh veggies, sugar snap peas, scallions, cilantro, ginger, garlic, and I added carrots. Not only was it beautiful, but it was healthy too! I did add the chicken which she recommended in order to make it a more rounded meal. I took it for a boating picnic and I got rave reviews.
Thanks mom/P.J.

Pasta Balsamico!
This simple summer pasta toss will make your family sing it's amore. About twelve ingrediants and you will look like an Italian House Wife!
Capellini Pasta
Cracked Pepper
Sea Salt
Fresh Cherry Tomatoes
Fresh Basil
Parmesan
Crispy Bacon
Sauteed Spinach
Butter
Garlic
White Wine
Mushrooms
Balsamic
A pot of water bubbles on the stove, fresh basil, and warm tomatoes clutter the counter. My knife chops through American bacon a happy replacement for pancetta. A flame heats a heavy bottom skillet waiting to crisp the bacon. White mushrooms, creamy butter, garlic and white wine sautee while the bacon snaps. I add the pasta to the salted, boiling water and the spinach to wilt with the mushrooms. A moment later the bacon is ready for draining, the mushrooms are soft, pasta is cooked and I select my favorite cherry red pasta bowl. First the noodles, then the bacon, mushrooms with spinach, top with fresh tomatoes, basil, shaved parmesan, drizzle with a fine balsamic and toss. Balisimo! Dinner for eight is served just like that.
Amounts do not matter, cook as much of anything as you like or adjust to your family size.
